Our team of SEO experts will ensure that your web page is highly visible on all the major search engines. There are many companies that tend to use black hat or unethical SEO techniques for the websites they create, and these websites end up banned or penalized by the search engines. Our methods are completely ethical and incredibly effective, and many of them are easy enough for you to do on your own.
Our professional copywriters ensure that you have a continuous stream of content for your website in order to keep it alive and dynamic. The more you update your site, the more your visitors will return and the more your chances for success will grow.

Solar Charger for your bike – Portable Or Non-portable?
A solar charger has become an increasingly important device in recent years. It is ideal for both use home and during camping trips or other outdoor expeditions. This charger essentially works as an alternative source of energy for powering up your mobile phone, camera, media player, laptop, and other equipment when you are off the grid. It helps you in supplying the same power to your appliances as they would use while connected to a regular electrical connection.
This type of charger comes in a fixed style. It has a solar panel, inverter, battery, and a control box. Cords are also present that you can connect to your electrical device for charging. Given its non-portable status and relatively large size, it can provide enough power to charge your laptop and media players as well powering cell phones.
Advantages
- Non-portable solar charger provides more power, which may be significantly greater than the 1,000 ampere-hour offered by a standard cell phone charger.
- It requires minimal maintenance as there are no moving parts.
Disadvantages
- The price of a non-portable charger is higher given its large size.
- Its main drawback is the inability to take it to remote places as it is fixed in one place.
A portable charger has none of the limitations associated with its non-portable counterpart. It is available in a number of shapes and power generation capacities with some at par with the non-portable counterpart.
You can use a portable charger that comes with a rollable solar panel. This increases power production once you unroll the panel and attach it to the battery. Some panels are so small that they can also be tucked into your pocket as they are light-weight and shock-proof.
Advantages
- Advanced models of portable chargers can provide a power of up to 40 watts, which is large enough to power a GPS tracking device.
- You can take them anywhere under the sun as they come in compact shapes and designs.
Disadvantages
- Standard type of portable chargers does not provide enough power to charge more than one device at a time.
- Some of the cheaper chargers only work under bright sunlight. More expensive models have much greater tolerances.
Making a Selection Between Portable and Non-portable
It ultimately boils down to your personal needs when it comes to selecting a solar charger. A portable charger is usually considered a better choice if you do not have a stack of electrical devices, laptops, and media players. This will come in handy during traveling,or when you’re disconnected from the electrical grid.
If, however, you are tech savvy and use plenty of gadgets then it sometimes becomes necessary to buy a non-portable device. Especially if you want to save money.
Either outdoors or at home, solar chargers provide the perfect way to keep your electrical devices working when electricity is not available, or even when you want to save money or do your bit for the environment. While they won’t change the world, they are a good start.
Cycle Chic Sunday Santa Barbara!

design: Mikael Colville-Andersen
Cycle Chic Sundays started at the beginning of this year with a group of friends in Southern California who wanted to cycle in style together. Inspired by the Cycle Chic movement, the goal is to “enjoy time with friends and make new ones while riding bikes and looking chic.” Cycle Chic Sundays founder, Eva, has been blogging at eva-lu.com about her cycling adventures.
It was a pleasure to meet Eva in Santa Barbara this May to discuss all the possibilities for Cycle Chic Sundays. In a matter of months, the concept has inspired Cycle Chic rides around the globe including Sydney, Santa Monica, and Denver. Cycle Chic founder, Mikael Colville-Andersen, even noted on Copenhagen Cycle Chic that he was longing for a sunny California bicycle ride. That’s called California dreamin’, Mikael!

Sunday Cycling + Museum
The inaugural Cycle Chic Sunday Santa Barbara ride was charming! The weather oscillated between sunny and cloudy all while maintaining a pleasant temperature. The group, including about 20 Southern Californians, met at the iconic Santa Barbara Dolphin Fountain for a slow Sunday ride. We cycled to the end of Stearns Wharf and along State Street to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Since the museum is free on Sundays, I asked the group if they’d like to peak in for 30 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the museum and we continued to ride along the ocean on Cabrillo Blvd. See more photos on Flickr. Group photo coming soon.
Thank you Eva, Cycle Chic Sundays founder, for coming up from Orange County to join the ride!
If you’re in the Santa Barbara area, please join us on second Sundays – the next ride is August 8th. Suggestions for fun activities welcome.
Also note the coinciding Cycle Chic Sundays Sydney ride hosted by Saskia Howard, A Spirit of Place blogger. There seems to be a lot of momentum for Cycle Chic Sunday rides – very exciting!
Cycle Chic Sundays, Santa Barbara Style
CycleMAYnia 2010, Bike Fashion Show
Above is a video of the Santa Barbara bicycle fashion show, Santa Barbara Cycle Chic, last May. It was a charming event held at the Casa de la Guerra in downtown Santa Barbara. We have received great community feedback, and I hope it inspires locals to ride with style. Thank you sponsors, models, and volunteers for your support and time. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such passionate and dedicated community members.
The fashion show opened a series of CycleMAYnia 2010 events including Kidical Mass, Bike FROM Work, and Bachelors on Bikes Auction. Also see the CycleMAYnia recap video below showing event highlights and the growing Santa Barbara bicycle community.
Sunday Summer Ride
The second Cycle Chic Sunday ride was lovely yesterday. It was a small group since the timing conflicted with the Santa Barbara Cruise Ride, but it was a charming ride nonetheless. We trailed off from a local bicycle shop, WheelHouse, to dine at Jeannine’s cafe in Montecito. On route, we passed Butterfly Beach and the Andree Clark Bird Refuge. Stunning ocean and mountain views were nearly always in sight. It is also quite pleasant that for the majority of the route, there are protected bike paths. Serenity at its finest.
Note that Cycle Chic Sundays Santa Barbara will be hosted every second Sunday, commencing at the WheelHouse at 2:00pm. Please join the Facebook group for more event details. And of course, if you’re in the area, feel free to join us!

Meet Carrie’s curious dog, Carson. He entertained us while we cycled.

Meet Carmen, bilingual bike blogger at Space Rider Gal.
Cycle Chic Sundays Santa Barbara: Summerland in September
Cycle Chic Sundays Santa Barbara! is cycling to Summerland in September. Commencing at the WheelHouse, we’ll enjoy a slow ride down State Street and along the ocean, stopping at Luna Cafe for coffee and tea. Enjoy the beautiful Andree Clark Bird Refuge and Butterfly Beach while cycling with Santa Barbara style. Returning to downtown Santa Barbara, we’ll conclude the evening at Cafe Buenos Aires where local pianist, Al Reese, will be performing a variety of contemporary popular dining and dancing music.
Optional theme: bohemian style.
If you’re in the area, feel free to join us! If you plan to attend, please RSVP on the Facebook event page.
Wooden Bike Baskets
-
Have you seen wooden bike baskets in your community, or is this just a Santa Barbara trend? I know bicycles with wooden baskets are sold at Wheelhouse, and wondering if these baskets are sold separately as well. Very cool.

- A few weeks ago I thrifted a really nice wine box just the perfect size to go on my back bicycle rack AND which I’ve been meaning to write up a post about;) ANY way I’d been looking forever for just such a wine box.
I should try to find Charlotte’s (Chic Cyclist) post on back rack wine boxes…seems to be quite the thing and very stylish in Boston. There was even this guy who was selling them for awhile online.

- I have seen a few wooden baskets around Boston, but it is by no means a trend here. I love the look. My only concern is: how well does it fare in the rain?

- Love this post – I actually saw a guy (in a suit) recently in NYC with a vintage wooden Pepsi crate which made for a sweet looking basket.
This is also a bike company here in the city, Bowery Lane Bicycles, which has their custom wood crates that come on all their bikes!
