More at the Denver Art Museum

After resting, we once again began to explore the Denver Art Museum. We walked up several floors. There were many kinds of art. There were statues carved by skilled hands. Some actually looked real, as if they were alive. We saw pottery of many hues, some had a wild mixture of colors. There were a lot of items I would have liked to purchase. We managed to cover some of the floors in the museum.

We saw they had a program for blind people. I thought about that. How could blind people see the artwork? I did get some hint by the sign that named a lecture that was called “See With Your Hands”. That helped explain it. Maybe the artwork for blind people would be the pottery and statues, things they could feel with their hands. This event is sponsored by The Spire Denver.

We finally realized we were not able to view all five floors of the museum. We could have rushed through the exhibits and finished all of them, but we would not have appreciated all the details. We looked at each piece of artwork as a wonder. We noticed details and thought about the people who made them. Much artwork comes from the artist’s experiences in life. Many times a piece of art is dear to the artist’s heart.

We left the museum and made our feet walk to the car. The car seemed to be farther from the building than when we first arrived. We jumped in and drove off. Lynn wanted to go to Strings again for supper, so we did. Strings felt familiar to us now. I wondered if anyone noticed us as returning customers? They didn’t know our name. I haven’t seen anyone I know.

We ordered steak and all of the trimmings. We both realized this could be the last time we would eat at Strings this trip. We would be going home day after tomorrow. We would plan the last day carefully. Lynn still wanted to climb a mountain. I wanted to visit the Denver Botanic Gardens and walk through the corn maze. There were beautiful churches I wanted to see.

We finished our meal, it was delicious as ever. Strings is now my favorite restaurant.

We drove to the hotel that now felt like home. We changed into comfortable pajamas and climbed into bed. Once again we feel to sleep immediately. We slept safe and sound at the hotel.
